My son is turning 10 and I was having a difficult time figuring out what to get him for Christmas this year. We have a double problem since his birthday is also right around Christmas. Our kids are admittedly spoiled and have everything. We’ve worked at pulling back on getting them things, but that is for another day!
When I asked him what he wanted for Christmas he was telling me things I knew he really wasn’t interested in. He is in that weird stage where he doesn’t really play with toys, but he’s not old enough for some of the “big kid” things. After some digging and pulling I was finally able to get a few things out of him that he is wanting. So when deciding what to get your kids for any occasion I highly recommend having conversations and really discussing what they are interested in or may be interested in. Seems like a duh thing to say, but he was adamant he wanted the things he had initially told us. After discussing and really talking through those things he decided while they were his interests at one point, they weren’t what he was into currently.
Below are some ideas I got from him or ones I thought up on my own. I broke them down into categories.
